The Botanical Bouquet is a custom fine art photographic print. It is a modern approach to wedding bouquet preservation, creating an heirloom art piece from your wedding flowers.

In 2018 the first bouquet preservation print of its kind in the UK was commissioned, and The Botanical Bouquet was born.

The Botanical Bouquet is an authentic, contemporary approach to preserving your bridal bouquet, inspired by a love for iconic botanical illustrations of the past. The oldest illustrated sketchbook is traced to a Greek botanist during the first century AD. The practice never went out of fashion.

Botanical illustration boomed across Europe during the Georgian and Victorian eras.  Today the tradition continues to thrive, through watercolours, paper sculpture and glass art. I am proud to join the movement, with hand-crafted surfaces, finest pigment inks and pure cotton papers.

Our backdrops are all created by hand in Somerset from the finest paints and linen. Finished images are printed in the UK on 100% pure cotton rag of archival quality and expertly hand-mounted. Botanical names are added using sophisticated, premium handlettered fonts.

Strong inspiration is drawn from iconic botanical sketches of the past, together with contemporary botanical watercolours. As is true of all these illustrations, your bouquet print is also a work of art in its own right.

01. Hydrate

Stand your bouquet in fresh water on your wedding day whenever you aren’t holding it, ensuring every stem is fully immersed. Don’t throw your bouquet!

02. Untie

As soon as you have finished with your bouquet, remove all ribbons and string. Cut through the green florists tape and discard. Stand the stems in water constantly until ready to pack, topping up the water if it gets low. Throw out and replace the water if it becomes cloudy.

03. Pack

Wrap wet kitchen roll or tissue around the cut ends of 2-3 stems of each variety and place in groups into plastic sandwich bags. Line a box with carrier bags then place stems in top-to-toe. Begin with the heaviest blooms and foliage first, followed by the most fragile, placing light tissue paper between each layer.

04. Post

You will need to pack up your flowers on the first working morning following your wedding to send to me via Royal Mail Special (Next Day) Delivery by 1pm or by overnight courier. Alternatively, why not arrange for your florist to send me a selection direct.
